Welcome to CouchCertified
We started CouchCertified to fix a small but persistent problem: Massachusetts teachers need 15 hours of English language learner professional development for license renewal, and it shouldn’t cost a week’s salary.
We’re launching our Signature course — Supporting Every English Language Learner — in 2026: 15 hours, self-paced, $89.
Fifteen modules across five strands — foundations, language and literacy, instruction, assessment, and systems and equity. It runs from language acquisition theory and WIDA proficiency levels through the day-to-day work: content-language objectives, academic vocabulary, scaffolding, sheltered instruction, cooperative learning, reading and writing strategies, formative assessment, using data to differentiate, and co-teaching — closing on technology, family engagement, and advocacy. WIDA-aligned at every proficiency level, and built for PreK–12 classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and ELL specialists.
