Who we are

CouchCertified is a DESE-approved provider of affordable, self-paced professional development courses for teachers. We started CouchCertified because PD shouldn’t cost a week’s salary and require sitting in a hotel ballroom on a Saturday.

What we believe

PD should respect your time. Self-paced courses, no fixed schedule, no commute.
PD should respect your wallet. A full 15-PDP module is $69, not $400.
PD should be rigorous. Every Knowledge Check, reflection, and Final Exam meets the DESE Provider Application v3.13 standard.

How it works

Sign up via Systeme.io affiliate dashboard at the application link.

Payout

Monthly via Stripe Connect, after a 30-day refund window has elapsed. Minimum payout: $50.

30 days. We use a first-touch attribution model — if a teacher first clicks your link, you earn the commission even if they purchase weeks later.

Summary

We collect the minimum information needed to deliver your courses, issue your DESE-approved certificates, and comply with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s 7-year retention requirement for reflections.

What we collect

Account info: name, email, and password (hashed) when you enroll.
Course activity: Knowledge Check answers, reflections, Final Exam responses, and completion timestamps.
Payment info: processed and stored by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
Operational telemetry: anonymized page views (GA4) and error logs.

How we use it

Deliver your courses and certificates.
Comply with DESE’s 7-year retention requirement on reflections.
Send transactional email (welcome, certificate ready, completion).
Improve courses (aggregated, anonymized analysis of reflections — PII is redacted before analysis).

LearnWorlds (LMS), Stripe (payments), Systeme.io (email), Airtable (system of record), Imejis.io (certificate PDFs), Bunny.net (video hosting), Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), n8n (workflow automation). Each is bound by their own privacy policy and only receives the data needed for their function.
Government: We share data with DESE on request, as required by our provider agreement.
We never sell your data.

Your rights

Access / export: email hello@couchcertified.com and we’ll send you a copy of your data within 30 days.
Deletion: email hello@couchcertified.com to delete your account. We retain reflection records for 7 years per DESE requirement; everything else is deleted within 30 days.

Standard refund

We offer a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided you have completed no more than one Section of the module.

How to request

Email billing@couchcertified.com from the email address on your enrollment. We’ll process the refund within 5 business days and confirm by email when Stripe issues the credit.

Failed Final Exam

If you fail the Final Exam Attempt 2, you receive a free re-enrollment that resets the course so you can retake every Section. No additional charge.

1. Who we are

CouchCertified LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides DESE-approved, self-paced professional development courses to teachers.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. One person, one account. Sharing an account voids your enrollment and certificate.

3. Course access

Enrollments do not expire. You may complete a module at your own pace. The DESE-approved certificate is issued only after passing every Knowledge Check, submitting every reflection, and passing the Final Exam.
